NEARBY BY BUS

From Bridport, head west on the X51 or X53 to explore Charmouth, Lyme Regis or Axminster, or east on the X51 across to Dorchester. To the south-east, the X53 (and X52 in summer) runs along the coast to Burton Bradstock, Abbotsbury and Weymouth. Look up bus times.

GETTING TO WEST BAY & BRIDPORT

Take the train from London Waterloo to Axminster, Weymouth or Dorchester: 2hr 30 to 2h 45

Take the X51 / X53 from Axminster (1hr), the X52 / X53 from Weymouth (1hr) or the X51 from Dorchester South (55min) to Bridport (X52 / X53 only for West Bay). Buses pick up right outside each station.

Top tip: On the SWR website you can buy a combined rail and bus ticket to Bridport (transferring from train to bus at Dorchester). Just enter your starting railway station and Bridport as your destination.
