Fares Train times

With the line reopened after nearly 50 years, visit Dartmoor, the Granite Way and Okehampton itself.

Reach Okehampton in just 40 minutes from Exeter. Okehampton station is at the northern tip of Dartmoor National Park, perfectly placed for walks on to the moor (see our recommended routes below).

You can also hire bikes opposite the station and get straight on to the Granite Way with easy cycling all the way to Lydford.

Explore Okehampton

From the station, take the scenic stroll into town through the ornamental gardens of Simmons Park (walk directions).

Okehampton has some great independent shops to explore, not least in the town’s Victorian Arcade, and plenty of good quality eateries.

Explore the Museum of Dartmoor Life, and from April to October take the short walk to Okehampton Castle.
