The RSPB has a great programme of half-term nature events at Bowling Green Marsh, 15 minutes’ walk from Topsham station (map). Click each event to find out more:

About Bowling Green Marsh
Bowling Green Marsh is on the east bank of the Exe Estuary and is one of the best places to watch birds in south-west England. Throughout the year, the open water attracts many different species of wetland birds. Little grebes, mute swans and a variety of ducks breed here. Taking the train
Trains to Topsham run half-hourly through most of the day from both Exeter and Exmouth (seven days a week).

The adult Off-Peak Day Return fare to Topsham is just £3 from either Exeter or Exmouth. 5-15 year-olds are half price, and under 5s go free. Groups of three to nine people get a third off.

The train journey takes 15 minutes from Exeter Central, and 10-15 minutes from Exmouth. There are also departures from Exeter St Davids (slightly less frequent) taking 20 minutes.
