UPDATE – NOW FULLY BOOKED. On Thursday, 9th April, join professional Blue Badge tour guide Mark Camp for a guided walk exploring the hidden corners of West Looe.
Mark will be waiting to greet you at Looe train station at 11:20am. From there, set off to explore some of West Looe’s lesser-known spots, discovering bits of the town you may not have noticed before, along with some great views across to East Looe.
As always, Mark will share his knowledge of Looe’s history and stories as you walk along – and he might even throw in a hill or two, just for fun.
The walk is approximately 3.5 miles long and may be muddy in places, so please wear appropriate footwear and clothing. Be sure to bring a bite to eat and a drink along the way.
Please note: dogs are not permitted on the walk.
The guided walk is free to attend, but you will need to buy train tickets as usual (and book in with Mark by email – see below).
If coming from Plymouth, buy your train ticket at Plymouth station:
Plymouth – Looe Off-Peak Day Return £8.60
If coming from Liskeard, buy your ticket at the ticket office or on the train:
Liskeard – Looe Anytime Day Return £6.20
UPDATE: NOW FULLY BOOKED.
To book your place on this walk please email Mark at walkaboutwest@btinternet.com and let him know how many people are in your party. Mark will email you back to confirm your booking.
From Plymouth, catch the 10:14 train, arriving into Liskeard at 10:41. This gives you a few minutes to hop off and make your way over to platform 3 to catch the Looe Valley Line train departing at 10:48, arriving into Looe at 11:16. Mark will be waiting to meet you at the station.
If coming from Liskeard, head straight to platform 3 to catch the 10:48 to Looe.
The walk aims to finish by 15:00, allowing you enough time to have a look around some shops and walk back to the station for the 15:45 train home.
Top tip – get a Devon & Cornwall Railcard (just £13 a year and now available online) to save a third on rail fares for you and a friend.
