Autumn day trips from Truro

Hop on the train this autumn for adventures galore from Truro. Here are three ideas to get you started:

The Box, Plymouth

Discover The Box, Plymouth’s award-winning museum and gallery. Just 10 minutes’ walk from Plymouth station, check out the giant naval figureheads, meet the woolly mammoth and even try presenting the news in the Media Lab. Free entry.

National Maritime Museum, Falmouth

Check out the Surf! exhibition, celebrating 100 years of wave riding in Cornwall, or get spooky with the Museum’s half-term and Halloween events. With 15 galleries over five floors, admission includes entry for a year. Just a 5-minute walk from Falmouth Town station.

St Ives beaches

Take the scenic St Ives Bay Line (pictured passing Carbis Bay) to St Ives and walk straight down on to Portminster beach. Then head into town to grab a bite to eat or to visit Porthmeor or one of the town’s other picturesque beaches.
