Autumn day trips from Crediton

Hop on the train this autumn for adventures galore from Crediton. Here are five ideas to get you started:

Princesshay, Exeter

Just an 8-minute walk from Exeter Central station, Princesshay is home to over 60 of the best high street names. And if that’s not enough, it’s just a short stroll to John Lewis!

Tarka Trail from Barnstaple station

Arriving into Barnstaple, hire bikes right at the railway station and hit the Tarka Trail. Barnstaple station has a great cafe, as does Fremington Quay a short way along the trail.

Dartmoor walks from Okehampton station

Head to Okehampton station, fuel up at the station cafe, the Bulleid Buffet, then try one of our self-guided Dartmoor walks, ranging from 2 to 8 miles, with free directions and maps.

Exmouth beach

The beach is just a 14-minute walk from Exmouth station. Take a walk along the South West Coast Path, or explore Exmouth’s colourful marina and great eateries.

RAMM, Exeter

Just a 2-minute walk from Exeter Central station, explore the wonders of the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (free entry). Early years ‘beastie bags‘ are available for little ones to add to the excitement. They include a costume to wear, a hand puppet/soft toy, magnifying glass, pair of binoculars and more. Free to borrow from Reception.
