Free guided walk: Duloe Village & Stone Circle

Hop on the scenic Looe Valley Line on Wednesday 5th June and head out on a free guided walk with professional Blue Badge tour guide, Mark Camp.

The Walk

Mark will be there to greet you off the train at Causeland station midway down the line (see below for train times). You’ll first follow a quiet road and across a footpath towards the historic village of Duloe, where you will stop to admire its intriguing stone circle. The walk will finish at Sandplace station where you can catch the train home.

The walk is approximately 4 miles long and should take around 3 hours. Please be sure to bring your own packed lunch (there is a shop in Duloe, but the rest of the walk is very rural) and don’t forget to wear appropriate shoes and clothing.

Please note: dogs are not permitted on the walk.

How to book

This guided walk is free to attend, but you will need to buy train tickets as usual. Buy online or at Plymouth/Liskeard station. To book your place on this walk please email Mark at walkaboutwest@btinternet.com and let him know how many people are in your party. Mark will email you back to confirm your booking.

Get there by train

Catch the 11:36 train from Liskeard then sit back and relax as you enjoy rolling countryside views along the picturesque Looe Valley Line. Hop off at Causeland where Mark will meet you at the station and the guided walk will begin (at 11:52).

If you’re coming from Plymouth, catch the 10:42, arriving into Liskeard at 11:11, giving you time to walk over to platform 3 where you’ll catch the 11:36 down to Causeland.

The walk will finish in time for you to catch the 15:21 train from Sandplace station, arriving into Liskeard at 15:48 or Plymouth at 16:38.

Please note: As you will be getting on and off the train at different locations, for simplicity we recommend buying a return to Looe (or if you are travelling from Liskeard and want to save 80p, you can buy a return to Sandplace instead).

Liskeard – Looe Adult Anytime Day Return: £5.90

Plymouth – Looe Adult Off Peak Day Return: £8.20

Top tip – get a Devon & Cornwall Railcard (just £12 a year and now available online) to save a third on the above fare for you and a friend.
