Boarding at Gunnislake or other Tamar Valley stations:
Starting at Gunnislake at 17:33, you can hop on the train at any stop along the Tamar Valley Line. You’ll arrive in Plymouth at 18:18 where you can either head off for a night out or stay on the train for even more music as you make your return to Gunnislake, arriving back at 19:24.
Boarding at Plymouth
Hop on the 18:38 at Plymouth station for music on the journey to Gunnislake, arriving 19:24. From there you can stay on the train as it returns home (note: no music) or why not enjoy a meal in the Tamar Valley and a visit to the pub before catching the last train back (22:22 from Gunnislake).

An adult Off-Peak Day Return ticket between Gunnislake and Plymouth is £7.50.
