Tamar Valley Line music train

This article is more than 10 months old.

Take a train trip with a difference on the scenic Tamar Valley Line with the return of our music trains!

Friday 16th June

Sit back and enjoy the beautiful views from your train window as you’re entertained by fantastic live music courtesy of The Kit Hillbillies with their rollicking bluegrass and good-time acoustic roots tunes!

Boarding at Gunnislake or other Tamar Valley stations:

Starting at Gunnislake at 17:33, you can hop on the train at any stop along the Tamar Valley Line. You’ll arrive in Plymouth at 18:18 where you can either head off for a night out or stay on the train for even more music as you make your return to Gunnislake, arriving back at 19:24.

Boarding at Plymouth

Hop on the 18:38 at Plymouth station for music on the journey to Gunnislake, arriving 19:24. From there you can stay on the train as it returns home (note: no music) or why not enjoy a meal in the Tamar Valley and a visit to the pub before catching the last train back (22:22 from Gunnislake).

Look up train times for other stations or see the PDF timetable.

No reservation is required, simply turn up on the day.

An adult Off-Peak Day Return ticket between Gunnislake and Plymouth is £7.50.

Save a third off the above adult fare for you and a friend (with kids travelling for just £1) with a Devon & Cornwall Railcard – just £12 a year for local residents.

Look up train times and buy rail tickets on the GWR website or app.
