Illuminate Plymouth – go by train

This article is more than 4 years old.

Hop on the train to Plymouth for the amazing free Illuminate Festival of light.

The event will see the historic Royal William Yard turned into a spectacular display of light-based art installations, interactive displays and projections. The festival also marks the start of the year of Mayflower 400 commemorations. Find out about the Illuminate event app and download it free.

Illuminate is on each evening from Thursday 28 November to Sunday 1 December, running from 17 30 to 22 00.

Getting there

Take the train to Plymouth station (look up times). Turn right outside the station and cross the footbridge to the Saltash Road bus stop (see map).

Thanks to additional bus services, the 34A bus will depart this stop at 05, 20, 35 and 50 minutes past the hour to take you to Royal William Yard (20-minute journey).

The journey home
