Take your teddy for a train trip to the zoo

This article is more than 7 years old.

Bring your teddy on a family day out this half-term. As a special offer, accompanied children (5-15 years) who bring a teddy can travel free by train to Newquay. The offer applies from Par and nearby villages along the Atlantic Coast Line. Once you get there, head to Newquay Zoo!

You’ll arrive at Newquay station in the heart of the town. From there it’s only a short walk to the zoo (see map of the route), which has lots of half-term activities to enjoy. These include arts and crafts, feeds, talks and awesome animal enrichment throughout the week – making a visit to the zoo a must!

The rail offer runs from Sunday 12th to Sunday 19th February 2017, courtesy of Great Western Railway. It is valid from these stations:
Route of the Atlantic Coast Line: Par, Luxulyan, Bugle, Roche, St Columb Road, Quintrell Downs, Newquay

Rules of the rail offer:

  • Children must be accompanied by a fare paying adult (the adult Off-Peak Day Return ticket from Par to Newquay is £4.90).
  • A maximum of two children are allowed to travel free per adult.
  • Under 5s are free as always, maximum four per adult.
  • Stations included in the promotion are Par, Luxulyan, Bugle, Roche, St Columb Road, Quintrell Downs and Newquay.
  • The offer only applies to journeys made on the branch line itself.
  • Entry to the zoo is not included. See admission prices.
