Looe BIG Festive Weekend

Head to Looe by train this weekend (2-3 December 2016) for Christmas craft stalls, carols, Santa’s grotto and more.

Friday 2nd December
Festivities kick off on Friday with a Christmas craft market on West Looe Quay from 5pm to 9pm.

Then at 6.30pm a lantern procession sets off from the Rose Garden, East Looe, and the Millpool, West Looe. They converge on the bridge and head to the Quayside Centre, West Looe for the official lights switch-on and carol singing.

Taking the train
Trains depart from Liskeard (Platform 3) at 16 41 and 18 06. The scenic journey to Looe takes 31 minutes, followed by a 10-minute walk down to West Looe Quay. There are trains back at 18 40 and 19 52. An adult Off-Peak Day Return is just £4.30. Parking at Liskeard station costs £1.

Saturday 3rd December
From 2pm to 9pm, visit the Christmas craft market on West Looe Quay. At 2pm, Santa arrives at the RNLI Station in East Looe. He then leads a procession through the town, over the bridge, to the Quayside Centre in West Looe. He will take up residence in his Grotto in West Looe to meet children for the rest of the day. While you wait for Santa you can visit the Nativity Scene in West Looe, with real animals to pet. There will be a children’s entertainer, bouncy castle and hot food and drinks.

At 7pm, fireworks will give Santa a big send-off.

Trains between Liskeard and Looe run hourly through most of the day.
