Travelling in a group of three to nine people? Get a third off adult Off-Peak tickets on Great Western Railway trains with the GroupSave discount.
It’s a great way to save money, whether on local day trips or journeys as far as London (for longer journeys, as always remember to book early to get the best price).
How does it work?
When buying online or at a station ticket office, the GroupSave discount is automatically applied when you buy a ticket for 3 to 9 people. (Note – some ticket machines are unable to sell GroupSave tickets, so use a ticket office or online booking instead).
If you are travelling from a station that doesn’t have ticket buying facilities, you can buy GroupSave tickets from the conductor on the train.
Which trains is it valid on?
GroupSave is available for the vast majority of the year on GWR trains departing after 09 30 Monday to Friday or any time at weekends. There are sometimes exceptions (for example on journeys that coincide with sporting events). You can check on the exclusions list.
Find out more about GroupSave on the National Rail Enquiries website.
Larger groups
If you are travelling in a group of 10 people or more, you should fill in Great Western Railway’s group travel form. This will alert the train company to the large group travelling, and they will contact you regarding a discount on tickets.
