Lana Turner in the final scene of 'Another Time, Another Place'

Hollywood came to Looe with the filming of ‘Another Time, Another Place’ (released 1958).

The final scene takes place at Looe station and features Lana Turner, Barry Sullivan and Glynis Johns. The film’s other star was a young Sean Connery in his first big role.

Official press publicity for the film recounted how: “One whole day was spent shooting at the tiny railway station. All would-be passengers were sent by bus to their destinations with the compliments of the film company.

"The engine drivers, the guard and the station staff had a wonderful time – never had the tiny train arrived and departed at the station so many times in one day.”
