Free Guided Walk: East Looe – Up and Over

On Tuesday 21st October, join Blue Badge guide and author Mark Camp for a panoramic walk around East Looe.

This scenic route zigzags its way uphill from the station, out to the Wooldown for fantastic views and then loops back into town via the South West Coast Path. If you thought you knew Looe, this walk will prove you don’t!

The Walk

Starting with the 10:48 train from Liskeard, Mark will meet you at Looe station for an 11:20am start.

The walk is approximately 2.5 miles long and should take around 3 hours, finishing in time for the 2:34pm train back from Looe. Expect a mixture of paths and lanes, with some uphill sections, so wear suitable footwear and clothing and bring along a light snack and a drink.

Please note: dogs are not permitted on the walk.

How to book

The walk is free to attend, but you will need to buy train tickets as usual.

Liskeard – Looe Anytime Day Return £6.20

Plymouth – Looe Off-Peak Day Return £8.60

To reserve your place, please email Mark at walkaboutwest@btinternet.com and let him know how many people are in your group. He’ll reply to confirm your spot.

Get there by train

If coming from Plymouth, catch the 10:14, arriving in Liskeard for 10:42 – allowing you 6 mins to hop off the train and head over the footbridge to Platform 3, where you’ll catch the Looe Valley Line train at 10:48 to arrive in Looe, where you’ll meet Mark for the 11:20 start time.

If you’re coming from Liskeard, catch the 10:48 from Platform 3.

The walk will aim to finish in time to catch the 14:34 train home from Looe station (arriving back to Liskeard at 15:06 for the 15:19 train back to Plymouth, arriving at 15:46).
