Free guided walk: Causeland to Sandplace

On Thursday 3rd July, join Blue Badge guide and author Mark Camp for a scenic but hilly 3.5-mile walk through the peaceful East Looe Valley. The route explores hidden coombes and leafy lanes as you find out about the history of the Liskeard to Looe Canal.

The walk

Starting at 12:10pm from Causeland station, this walk takes you on a winding journey through the quieter eastern slopes of the valley, between Trewidland and Morval.

As always, Mark brings the landscape to life with stories and insight – this time featuring glimpses of the area’s agricultural past, and the long-disused canal that once connected the moor to the coast.

The walk is approximately 3.5 miles long and you can expect a mix of road and track underfoot, so wear suitable footwear and clothing. There will also be time to stop for a picnic lunch, so be sure to also bring something to eat.

The route finishes at Sandplace station for the train home. See below for train times.

Please note: dogs are not permitted on the walk.

How to book

The walk is free to attend, but you will need to buy train tickets as usual.
