The Royal Albert Memorial Museum is just a 2 minute walk from Exeter Central station, making it the perfect family day out on the train this half term! Here’s what’s on:
Magical Miniature Dens (10:30 – 15:30 on Wednesday 15th Feb)
Create your own special miniature ‘den’ inspired by nature in this wonderful artist-led workshop. Using an incredible array of natural, foraged materials you will be the dreamer, the designer and the maker.
Imagine yourself in a wild landscape (it could be a meadow, a woodland, a forest or a river island – wherever you like) and imagine you are tiny, about the size of your thumb! You need a shelter; your very own little den. Somewhere you feel safe and content, connected to the natural world around you.
A Connection to Everything: Make a Tree of Life wall pendant (10:30 – 15:30 on Friday 17th Feb)
Inspired by the exhibition: Earth Spells: Witches of the Anthropocene, drop in and make a Tree of Life wall pendant to hang at home. Use your skill to twist the wires into an impressive branching tree within the framework, then add a crystal moon to create a beautiful work of art.
The tree is seen as a sacred symbol, carrying significant meanings in both religious and spiritual philosophies. The Tree of Life symbolizes many different things including: a connection to everything, growth and strength, individuality, immortality and rebirth, ancestry, family and fertility and peace.
RAMM is free to visit and you do not need to pre book any of the activities listed above.
From Exeter Central station, it’s just a 2-minute walk to the museum.
