How to get there

Take the scenic Tamar Valley Line from Plymouth station to Calstock (30 minutes).

From Calstock, it’s a picturesque 1.2-mile walk along the riverside to Cotehele (see directions and map). You can then choose whether to grab some lunch at the barn restaurant next to the main Cotehele house or get started straight away on the trail.

The Off-Peak Day Return fare from Plymouth to Calstock is £6.70 for adults, with 5-15 year-olds half price. Under 5’s go free.

Look up train times and buy your ticket on the Great Western Railway website or app, or at Plymouth station before boarding the train.
