This September, visitors to Cotehele House who have arrived by train can enjoy a free regular hot drink in the Barn Café. Just show your train ticket at reception to receive a voucher, then exchange it in the café for a comforting cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
Entry to Cotehele is free for National Trust members, and standard admission charges apply for non-members.
Take the Tamar Valley Line from Plymouth and hop off at Calstock station – then set off on a scenic riverside and woodland walk to Cotehele House. Please note: the walk is steep and uneven in places.
Or to try something new, take the Calstock Ferry to Cotehele Quay when the tide allows, and walk up to the house (another steep walk!).
The adult Off-Peak Day Return fare from Plymouth to Calstock is £8.30.
5-15 year olds travel half-price. Under 5s are free.
Top tip – get a Devon & Cornwall Railcard (just £12 a year and now available online) to save a third on the above fare for you and a friend. You can also bring up to four children for just £1 each.
