Tamar Valley River Festival – get there by train

Catch the train to Calstock on Saturday 26th October for the FREE Tamar Valley River Festival, organised by the Tamara Landscape Partnership.

What’s on

Starting at 10 00, the festival has a jam-packed schedule of workshops and activities including:

• Live music
• Gig boat racing
• Morris dancing
• Parade feat. Calstock Samba Band
• Circus skills workshop
• Yoga (booking required)
• Giant colouring-in wall
• Community art exhibition
• Calstock Ferry rides (prior to its opening as a passenger ferry in Spring 2025)
• And much more!

The festival wraps up at 17 00, but the celebrations don’t end there – stick around for an evening of live music at local venues.

Get there by train

The Tamar Valley Line is more than just a way to get to the festival – it’s part of the experience! Sit back and relax as you pass through the rolling countryside and enjoy the views over the iconic Calstock Viaduct (pictured above).

Trains depart Plymouth every two hours, with the journey to Calstock taking 30 minutes. The last train home is at 22:32.
