Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival – get there by train

This article is more than 6 months old.

Hop on the train to Falmouth this weekend (14-16 June) for the annual Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival – the largest free nautical music and song festival in Europe!

What’s on

From Friday 14th – Sunday 16th June, explore everything Falmouth has to offer from its famous food and drink scene, the weekend’s arts and craft market and of course, rousing live music at venues across Falmouth.

Get there by train

Forget parking and take the train on the Maritime Line from Truro. Hop off at Falmouth Docks station where the festivities are just a short walk away.

Trains home will depart every 30 minutes (including in the evening – when the timetable would usually go down to hourly). Look up departure times at www.GWR.com. There will be a queuing system at the station.

Adult Off-Peak Day Return fares:

  • Truro to Falmouth Docks £6.00
  • Redruth to Falmouth Docks £6.50
  • St Austell to Falmouth Docks £8.70
  • Camborne to Falmouth Docks £7.90

Kids travel half-price (5-15yr olds). Under 5s free.

Save a third off the above adult fares for you and a friend (with kids travelling for just £1) with a Devon & Cornwall Railcard – just £12 a year for local residents.

Look up train times and buy rail tickets on the GWR website or app.
