3 great walks from the Dartmoor Line

Hop on the train to Okehampton and explore some of the best that Dartmoor has to offer. Here are our top 3 walks starting from the station for a range of activity levels:

1. Belstone Circular

7 Miles | 3 – 4 Hours

A varied walk (rugged in places) through the wooded East Okement Valley to the village of Belstone and back across the moor. Highlights include woodland, river and waterfall views with a great pub and tearoom at Belstone.

2. High Willhays and Yes Tor

8.5 Miles | 4.5 – 6 Hours

Visit the highest point on Dartmoor, and indeed in Southern England. Caution: The walk enters a military training area – see advice in our directions pack. Highlights in this walk include military history to explore and great views over the moor.

3. East Hill (Dartmoor taster walk)

2.3 Miles | 1 – 2 Hours

A great walk for the best panoramic views across Devon and the highest peaks of Dartmoor. Highlights along this walk include Tramlines Woods, Fatherford Viaduct and if you’re lucky, some ponies to spot.
