Barnstaple Carnival – get there by train

Hop on the train to Barnstaple on Saturday 21st September and celebrate the town’s 75th carnival!

From 12 noon:

Explore Barnstaple

Why not head into Barnstaple early to explore the town before the Carnival begins? You could hire a bike and ride along the Tarka Trail, take a walk from the station on the South West Coast Path, or visit the historic Pannier Market (pictured above).


Get there by train

Forget the hassle of driving and instead enjoy a scenic train journey through the Devon countryside on the Tarka Line, arriving directly at Barnstaple station.

Trains to Barnstaple run hourly throughout most of the day (seven days a week). You can travel direct from Exeter Central and Exeter St Davids, with the journey taking approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.

Adult Off-Peak Day Return tickets from Exeter St David’s to Barnstaple are £13.80. Book on the GWR website or app.
