Hop aboard the charming Tamar Valley Line on Monday 24th June, for a free guided walk from Bere Ferrers station led by Clive Charlton, knowledgable local historian and proud Bere Peninsula resident.
As you take in the views from the train, get ready to dive into the valley’s rich history through Clive’s unique local lens, all while mingling with fellow adventurers.
Clive will greet you off the train at Bere Ferrers station (see below for train times). You’ll set off on your circular walk through the countryside and woodlands, finishing with beautiful riverside views as you approach the village.
This varied walk is approximately 3 miles long. Please note that you will need to cross several stiles and it can be muddy, so please make sure you’re wearing appropriate shoes.
Bring a picnic and enjoy next to the river.
Please note: dogs are not permitted on the walk.

This guided walk is free to attend, but you will need to buy train tickets as usual. Buy online or at Plymouth station. To book your place on this walk please email us at walks@dcrp.org.uk with how many places you’d like to book and a mobile contact number (just in case the event is cancelled for any reason).
Catch the 10.28 train from Plymouth and relax as you enjoy picturesque views from your train window along the Tamar Valley Line. Hop off at Bere Ferrers station where Clive will be waiting for you and the walk will begin (at 10.45).
The walk will loop back to the station in time for the 13.45 back to Plymouth.
