Hop on the train from Plymouth to Bere Ferrers on Saturday 23rd March to enjoy the spring colours of the Tamar Valley at the village’s annual spring flower show and craft fair.
It’s less than 20min from Plymouth to Bere Ferrers on the scenic Tamar Valley Line (see below for train times).
The two venues are almost right next door to each other, just 10 minutes’ walk from the station (see map).
Bere Ferrers Social Club, 1pm – 3.30pm
The fair will include woven and knitwear designs, textiles, ceramics, glassware, metalware, wood creations, natural beauty products, leather items, jewellery, books, baskets and more! The bar will be serving light lunches, refreshments and homemade cakes. Admission is free.

Church Hall, 1.30pm, with prize giving at 4.30pm.
Pop next door to the Village’s 74th annual flower show where organisers promise “many varieties, shapes and sizes of magnificent daffodils, backed up by lots of other colourful spring flowers, including camellias, tulips, primulas and pot plants.” Entry is £1 per person.
Why not make a day of it and set off on a scenic countryside walk through Bere Ferrers with great views of the River Tavy. The walk is 3-miles long and will take you around 1.5 hours. Download your free walking directions and map.
Pop into The Olde Plough Inn for a refreshing drink or a delicious pub lunch before catching the train home. Saturday opening hours are 12.00 – 15.00 and 17.30 – 22.00. Booking in advance is strongly advised.
Take the train from Plymouth station at 12.24, arriving into Bere Ferrers at 12.42 (or go later on the 14.24 arriving 14.42).
Walk from the station down to the Social Club and Church Hall (10 minutes walk – see map).
Trains back to Plymouth depart at 15.40, 18.00 and 19.44.
The Off-Peak Day Return fare is £6.50 for adults and £3.25 for children (5-15). Under 5s travel free.
Passengers can also join the train at Devonport, Dockyard, Keyham and St Budeaux Victoria Road stations.
