Hop on the train to the picturesque village of Bere Ferrers for the return of their annual Christmas art and craft fair on Saturday 25th November. This event is a true celebration of local artists from the Bere Peninsula, so come along and enjoy some stress-free festive shopping!
From 11 am – 3 pm, head over to The Bere Ferrers Social Club (just a 7-min walk from the station) and browse a range of paintings, textiles, fused glass, cakes, Christmas gifts and much, much more.
The bar will also be serving some light lunches, mince pies, mulled wine and a selection of handmade cakes.
Why not spend the whole day in Bere Ferrers? After you’ve had a look around the craft fair and enjoyed a light lunch, head out on a scenic circular walk taking you through countryside and woodland, with great views of the River Tavy.
Stop into the Olde Plough Inn for lunch or dinner by their open fire (booking is strongly advised – call 01822 840358), before walking back to the station to catch the train home.
Take the train from Plymouth station at either 10:24 (to arrive at 10:42) or 12.24 (to arrive at 12:42). To get home, trains back to Plymouth depart Bere Ferrers at 13:40 and 15:40. Or, if you’d like to stay later, trains depart at 18:00, 19:44 and the last train is at 22:46.
The Off-Peak Day Return fare is £6.20 for adults. 5-15 year-olds are half-price, and under 5s are free.
Save a third off the adult fare for you and a friend (with kids travelling for just £1) with a Devon & Cornwall Railcard – just £12 a year for local residents. Now available to buy online.
