Looe Raft Race – get there by train

This article is more than 1 year old.

Hop on the scenic Looe Valley Line for the much-anticipated return of the Looe Raft Race, one of the town’s most popular events, organised by Looe RNLI volunteers and supported by the Looe Boat Owners Association. With plenty of water-based thrills and spills, it’s sure to be a great day out for the whole family!

What’s on

On Sunday 11th June, starting at 12:15 pm, head down to one of the many vantage points along the Banjo Pier (just a 14 min walk from the station) or the quaysides on either side of the river to cheer on as competitors battle it out to win races and awards such as best fancy dress and best fundraiser.

Plan your trip

To get there, hop on the 10:36 from Liskeard, and enjoy scenic views of the estuary before arriving into Looe at 11:05. Take your time to wander down through the town and towards the beach, and pick up an ice cream along the way!

To get home, trains depart Looe at 15:41, 17:05, 18:45 and the last train leaves at 20:50.

  • Adult Off-Peak return Liskeard to Looe: £5.50

Kids travel half-price (5-15yr olds). Under 5s free.

Save a third off the above adult fares for you and a friend (with kids travelling for just £1) with a Devon & Cornwall Railcard – just £12 a year for local residents.
