With lots of fun festive events and great little independent shops for your Christmas shopping, there are plenty of reasons to visit Looe and Liskeard via the Looe Valley Line this Christmas.
Friday 30th November
Come and meet Santa on the 16 41 train from Liskeard down to Looe and back. Children will receive a free gift plus on board activities. Free festive refreshments will also be on offer. An Off-Peak Day Return is £4.40 adults, £2.20 child, under 5s go free. Fully booked – no further places available.
Friday 30th November
Enjoy some Cornish language singing on the 18 06 departure from Liskeard. Beginners welcome! Singers will then head to The Globe Inn opposite Looe station for more singing, before returning on the 19 52 train back from Looe. Saturday 1st December
Annual lantern procession and Christmas lights switch-on with a Cornish twist. The parade starts at 17 30 from the Cattle Market in Liskeard culminating with a fireworks display.
Saturday 1st December
All are welcome at the Public Hall from 19 00 where the party continues with live music from Cornish Groove Collective, Cornish dancing and a performance of Dando and his dogs.
Food and refreshments available.
Friday 7th December
Two processions, one starting in the Millpool car park and the other in the Rose Garden will meet on the bridge and process to the Quayside Centre, West Looe for carol singing and lights switch-on. 18 30 start.
Saturday 8th December
Santa will arrive by boat to Memorial Steps, East Looe, then head the procession through the town to his grotto. There will be a bouncy castle, animals, face painting, food market and bar to keep the whole family happy. 14 00 to 19 00.
Sunday 9th December
An opportunity to buy those last minute gifts as well as trying some lovely local gin. From noon on Buller Quay car park. (Please note: trains do not operate on winter Sundays on the Looe Valley Line).
