Son et Lumiere

This article is more than 7 years old.

Visit Penryn by train this Saturday evening (1st October) for a sound and light spectacular as part of the town’s Penryn 800 celebrations.

The ‘Son et Lumiere’ event – which is free to attend – will portray 800 years of the town’s history, projected on Penryn’s historic architecture including the Town Hall and Methodist Church. The show will run every 30 minutes between 8pm and 10pm.

Go by train from Falmouth
Take the 19 32 train from Falmouth Town station, arriving in Penryn at 19 40. It’s then less than a 10-minute walk to the Town Hall, one of the main locations (see map).

Trains back are at 21 19 and 22 26. The adult Off-Peak Day Return fare is £2.40, with under 5s free and 5-15 year olds half price. Falmouth Town station does not have a ticket office or ticket machine, so buy your ticket on the train from the conductor.
