Bere Ferrers Apple Fest – get there by train

Hop on the scenic Tamar Valley Line to Bere Ferrers for the return of their annual Apple Festival on Saturday 5th October!

What’s on

This long-time feature in the Tamar Valley calendar is a fan favourite! It’s free to attend and will be held under canvas outside Bere Ferrers Church Hall from 13 00 – 17 00. The Church Hall is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the station (see train times below).

There will be an apple fest raffle, homemade cakes and the famous apple pie competition! You can even bring your apples along for crushing and juicing, all you need are some containers to take your pressed juice home with you.

More to see and do

Bere Ferrers is a beautiful riverside village so a visit to the Apple Fest can be combined with a walk (get directions for a three-mile circular walk) and lunch in the local pub, The Olde Plough (booking recommended), for a great day out in the countryside.

Get there by train

Trains leave Plymouth station at 12 24 and 14 24 with return trains from Bere Ferrers at 15 40 and 18 00. The journey takes twenty minutes. Trains also call at Devonport, Keyham and St Budeaux Victoria Road and, by request, at Dockyard.
